Hello Members and Friends,


   This week will be the 34th delivery. Only two more following. There has been a pretty good response of CSA renewals by some Members. More have indicated they will renew for next year soon.  We are very hopeful of reaching the minimum number of required members for a 2021 CSA Program.


    On the next two deliveries we will be delivering Holiday Poultry and extra root crops. Boxes to last deliveries for Half Share Members. On the last delivery all the remaining Members will receive the same.  We'll be bringing the Market Trailer to have enough room for everything.

Farm News:

   During this Winter like weather our main concern every day is ensuring there's available water and feed for all the critters.  For the pigs we just filled up several 2,000 lb feed grain tanks and gave them a few round bales of hay and some straw for bedding. Only the Sow with the piglets gets fed daily with a 5 gal bucket of grain. She is kept in a barn pen about 12 x 12 feet size full of straw. 

   The cattle eat about 1,500 lb.'s a day. I take 6 large round bales out to them about every four days with a tractor and check the flow of the water tank.  So far I still have 278 of the bales left. Since the snow melted its been pretty easy hauling them around but later during blizzards and snow drifts it gets kind of risky.


   Waiting for the word to take another load of hogs to the processor soon.  Also will be doing another pass of field cultivating on a 50 acre parcel for planting with alfalfa/grass pasture next Spring. That will then total about 185 acres with one more field still to do next year.  We also have native pastures on some of the more rugged land.


   Managed to get all the Propane heaters going for the greenhouses. Still mostly below freezing at night time.  Most of the produce survived that last snow storm and severe cold.


CSA: Lets take a look at the plan for the CSA deliveries.


Cooler of the Best Produce:

Micro Green Mix, Lettuce Salad Mix, Kale, Chard, Collard Greens, Salad Onions, Leeks, Napa Cabbage, Beets, Carrots, Potatoes, Squash, Herb-Lemon, and Eggs.


Variety Of Meats:

Chicken, Beef Steaks, Stir Fry/Stew Meat, Ground Beef, Pork Roast, Deli Ham, Ground Pork Sausage.
