Rocky Ridge Ranch Newsletter - July 12
Hello Members and Friends,
Thanks to everyone for coming as early as possible to help us beat the heat last week. We plan to make the delivery this Thursday and hope you can come early again. To avoid schedule confusion I will send an email to every Half Member as a reminder.
My only brother was admitted to the Hospital in Tacoma, WA on July 9th from multiple problems with his health and is in a continuing coma. The chance of survival is pretty slim. He is 75 years old and my only sibling. I'm not sure how that will effect our schedule next week.
Things continue to be very hot and dry. I cornered the cows in a small 5 acre pasture and inspected each one. Most all are all doing great and I was surprised by their good condition. Only one seemed under weight for his size and a second had a rear leg injury. Not bad considering all they have gone through this spring. Have 1-3/4 beef still available for this fall and 2 - 3 1/2 hogs for Custom Order.
Everyday SO still works hard early mornings replanting damaged plants from the weather. The cooler nights are helping things go better. This week will be our 18th delivery which puts us half way through the season.
With these conditions it may occasionally be hard to source enough volume of produce or meat items so that everyone gets the same but we always work to ensure all deliveries are of equivalent and fair value. Let's see what is planned for this week.
Produce - Micro Greens Mix, Lettuce Salad Mix, Rhubarb, Kale, Chard, Collard Greens, Daikon Greens, Napa Cabbage Greens, Garlic Chives, Cucumbers, Salad Onion/Leeks Dry Onion, Potatoes, Carrots, Basil
Variety of Meats - Chicken, Ground Beef, Steak Cutlets, Soup Item, Pork Chops, Pork Roast, Deli Ham, Sausage
See you all soon!
