Harvesting Hay :)

Hello Friends and Members,

Finally some sunshine. Hay harvest has really been in progress the last three days. It'll still take a few more days to finish.

    Back pain still bad but have lots of medication that helps a bit. Hope to get an x-ray early this week.  Had a nice 4th of July picnic and fireworks late evening with some of my local kids and their children. Fireworks still legal out here. Enjoyed a great gathering and watching the kids enthusiasm about the fireworks. My Dog, Happy went wacky too. She kept trying to attack the sparks. A very enjoyable evening.

Farm News:


    Took six more pigs to the Processor early this week. Hoping to get some more beef and Lambs scheduled soon. All the cattle enjoying the best pasture ever this year.



Should have a few more baby calves soon. Put them near the timber so they can hide out in the shade on the real hot days. I also filled a wallow (muddy pig soaking pool) for the hogs so they can cool off naturally.


   

We'll probably have to start irrigation again soon.  New crops starting to mature.  Sorry don't have any for retail sales. It all goes to our CSA Members.


CSA NEWS:

We've been having trouble getting enough eggs so occasionally have to outsourcing some from other local farms. If anyone wants to sign up for the Fall CSA, now is the time. We need a chance to plant more veggies to supply the Fall Members. Won't do it without advance orders. Also last Spring some Members signed up late Spring on a pro-rated basis into the Summer quarter. Some of these Memberships will expire in a couple weeks if not renewed or extended.

Let's take a look at what is planned for this week's delivery:

Cooler of the Best Produce:

Micro Green Mix, Salad Lettuce Mix, Spinach, Kale Collard, Chard, Salad Onions, New potatoes, Daikon Radish, Napa Cabbage, Sesame Leaves, Garlic Chives, Rhubarb, Herb- Lemon, Baby Beets with/greens, Cucumbers, and Eggs.


Variety of Meats:

Chicken, Steak Cutlets, Stew Meat, Ground Beef, Pork Cutlet or Chop, Bacon, Ground Pork Sausage.


Special online orders - A few beef items may require substitutions on beef assortments. Any substitute items are always an upgrade in value. Pork and Lamb inventory now doing well on most items. 

    Due to busy scheduling of processor, customers desiring to order Custom Fall Pork, Lamb or Beef should place orders as soon as possible. Same for Fall Poultry.
