Beautiful Elk

Hello Friends and Members,


    Please remember to return your CSA Coolers this week. Currently more have been forgotten and not returned then we can ever recall, which may cause us to run short for future deliveries.


    Had a one time event this week. Early Saturday morning at dawn we got to see a herd of Elk crossing our pasture with a count of 67 in one large group that included everything from big Bull Elks down to young calves. We've lived her 38 years and this is a first for us.  Used to see small groups in the Spring but not for sometime now since the new development of housing behind us to the North.  They seemed to be enjoying some regrowth in the new Alfalfa field we planted recently.  What a beautiful sight is was!


Farm News:


    Spent a lot of time servicing and repairing the engine fuel system on the tractor I just got returned from the repair shop for transmission clutch issues.  I have three tractors but all three were broken down till this evening, after which I finished up the fuel system of the JD 2130 with a new fuel pump! I'll try it out with some test doing work tomorrow as I'm hoping to do field cultivating if it works okay.  I want to prepare a field for more alfalfa/grass hay planting next Spring.

    Been busy winterizing water systems because this coming week it's forecast to be below freezing down into the 20's.  Also testing the green house Propane heaters to get them ready for when it really gets cold.  Been repairing all the holes made by tree limbs falling during the recent wind storm. Used three rolls of Gorilla tape.  Today (Monday) all electricity will be off while some major repairs are being made.

    Still waiting for the Sow to have her babies.  Loading a few hogs tomorrow for processing.

Lets look at what we plan to deliver this week.  Our 32nd delivery this year!

Micro Greens Mix, Lettuce salad mix, Kale, Chard, Collard Greens, Salad Onions, Leeks, Squash, Carrots, Beets, Potatoes, Celery, Napa Cabbage, Daikon Greens, Sesame Leaves, Bell Pepper, Herb-Sage, and Eggs.


Variety of Meats:

Chicken, 2 Ground Beef, Beef Steaks, Pork Steaks, Sausage, Surprise item.
