How We Grow Produce

The garden has been developing for nearly twenty years by consistently adding livestock manure and other compost. We rotate plant locations in the garden to help reduce disease, insect, and weed problems using only organic products. Succession planting of fast maturing plants is practiced to allow continuous harvest of fresh young produce all summer. Portable greenhouses are used to extend the natural growing season.

Our favorites are spinach, lettuce, napa cabbage, radishes, sugar peas, green onions, carrots, beets, chard, beans, zucchini, cucumbers, and chives. We also grow longer season crops which are available late season. These crops include sweet corn, potatoes, squash, bulb onions, pumpkins, eggplant, and others.

Our most important crop is: GOURMET ASIAN GARLIC.
The garlic is harvested fresh in July-August. This Asian garlic has a large clove with a distinctively zesty, yet mild flavor. It has an excellent storage life and retains it's flavor when cooked.
